The Coronet was powered by a 'flathead' inline six-cylinder engine. which delivered 103 horsepower from the 230 cubic-inch unit. The engine was mated to a three-speed Fluid Drive semi-automatic transmission as standard with the 'Gyro-Matic' variant as optional equipment.This 1949 Dodge Coronet has undergone a comprehensive restoration and is like new inside and out. The engine and transmission has been rebuilt. A vehicle was re wired with a new harness. the brakes including wheel cylinders have been redone. the gas tank was relined and new gas lines were made. the vehicle has new tires and a all around freshening of the vehicle was performed. This Coronet has many of the hard to find parts including lights. bezels. lenses. restored or replaced all the Chrome was removed and redone to high standards. The vehicle was finished in French Grey and looks beautiful. The interior is in excellent condition. This 49 Dodge still retains its original flat 6 230ci with 103 hp and optional Gyromatic Transmission. The transmission shifts very smooth and is a very unique design allowing the driving to cruise without having to engage the clutch while at stops. etc. All lights. turn signals. gauges and heater are in working order.
